Jimmie Akesson's speech in Almedalen 2014

02/07/2014

Sweden Friends,
Almedal visitors,
It was certainly more than I like the Sunday night listening to Stefan Löfven when he stood up here
and struck his tone before the upcoming election campaign.
"Let the bells ring, from north to south," he said, referring to the church bells here in Visby
rang while a small group of Nazis on Saturday evening warmed up the stage here for him.
"Fascism and racism must be fought," thundered Stefan Löfven - and there is agreement about, he and
I.
Extremism should be fought.
It may be brown, black or blood red.
It may turn in one direction or the other.
Extremism in all its forms is something detestable to be fought.
With it, one can not be too clear!
But, then, he could not keep his balance, the good Löfven, when he was toward the end of his speech,
mixed into the Sweden Democrats in this by calling us "racists".

I am so very tired of the kind of infernal stupidity.

You know, Stefan Löfven, whatsoever what racism is ...
... What real racism has meant for people throughout the world, throughout history?
Do not utilize the atrocities, the suffering, the oppression that millions of people have
have suffered because of real racism.
Profiting not real heroes', often deadly, struggle for freedom, against racist oppression.
Do not pretend like you are part of their struggle - for you know nothing about it.
If you had known anything about it, so you would not put up as you did on Monday,
Stefan Löfven.
Careful not to smear your sticky smudge on history's heroes and their courage, through the cowardly attacks on us
because you have no real arguments.
Stop using other people's suffering to justify a policy on immigration in Sweden
has gone completely crazy.
Stop calling troubled, responsible people for something they are not.

Sweden Friends,
Let's define a few certainties:
It is not racism to combat genital mutilation of fully healthy children.
It is humanity.
It is not racism to oppose violence and repression exercised in the name of honor.
It is humanity.
It is not racism to want to direct the refugee aid to the vast majority of refugees in distress
worldwide.
Wanting to help more.
It is humanity.
It is not racism to make demands on those who come to our country and imagine a future
here.
It is humanity.
It is not racism to counter the fragmentation and segregation that has been created through a
irresponsible policy.
It is humanity.
It is not racism to prioritize the care of the elderly, who have built this country for us,
especially resource consuming, costly mass migration.
It is humanity.
It is not to be racism friend of Sweden.
It is humanity.
(Let's define it!)

Sweden Friends,
Almedal visitors,
This business of "Let the bells ring" end up in a little different light when you understand what Stefan Löfven
actually referring to, but it makes me think of Ring Out, Wild Bells and Jan Malmsjo.
(For some of you, perhaps it's Jarl Kulle or even earlier ...):
"Ring in the / ... / Ring in the new Ring out the old / ... / Ring out what doomed counting
his days ", etc ...
The signal I think that we will send to both the foliage and Reinfeldt September 14!
Sweden Friends,
Call in sense and responsibility, call out the tired old parties.
Let the bells ring, from north to south ...

EU ELECTIONS
It's been almost four years since the election, and our historic parliamentary entry.
You remember how it sounded before the election.
If we got into parliament so could the stock market crash, interest rates would be raised shock, the crown would
plunging.
We would get parliamentary chaos.
Santa Claus would not come on Christmas Eve ...
Now, four years later, we know that none of that came true (if anyone now really thought
it).
I have already noted from this scene.
Now, four years later, we know instead that more and more voters appreciate our participation in the Swedish policy.
Judging by the polls, we are now nearly twice as large as four years ago ...
... And I think that even the worst detractors from 2010 have been forced to realize that
The Sweden Democrats have come to stay.
If nothing else, gave EU election us a confirmation of it.

Now, in and of itself EU election special in the way that people vote on the basis of some other premises
than in a general election, but for us it is just a good sign.
We know from experience that we are the party that is most difficult to get our voters to the polling stations
connection with European elections
- And in spite of it -
... Even though the odds were against us, so we got a result, well over at least mine
expectations.
It's amazing, Sweden Friends!
It makes me extremely happy, extremely proud that we managed to achieve such a great result.
Many thanks to all who fought in the campaign ...
- And not least -
... Thanks to all who actually went to the polls and put their votes to us.
Many thanks!

If the European elections was a welcome confirmation that our growth in voter opinion has been
real, so it was also one other thing.
We see new lines of confrontation in Swedish politics.
We see how the emphasis of the debate has shifted.
We see our success begets counter-reactions.
We see how the Left tend to be radicalized.
And we see how our ideological opposites is also growing as a reaction to that we grow.
That another of the elections, the Feminist Initiative, built a large part of his election campaign on
to throw dirt on us is a sign that we are a kind of centrifugal force in Swedish politics.
Same thing with the Green Party, who chose to dedicate a significant part of their valspurt access to
respond to our campaign against the hitresta EU beggary.

Begging campaign, I must say, by the way, was one of the most successful campaigns we've ever
implemented.
And with a very concrete results, in addition.
In recent years, as the phenomenon of the hitresta beggary has grown in scope, is
many people have raised the question of how we should deal with it.
In parliament, politicians from several other parties asked questions and made suggestions about the different
way stop organized begging.
We have heard the police officers and other officials testify how begging looks and how it
goes to.
On the whole, the debate has been based on the perspective that it hitresta begging largely
is organized, people utilized, and it is a serious problem.
We came next.
We put up a poster in the Stockholm subway with the text:
"It is time to stop organized begging in our streets."
And hey presto, you were not the problem anymore.
There was absolutely no organized begging, now claimed all.
(Even those who previously said it wants to fight it.)
We succeeded thus eliminating a major social problem just by putting up a poster.
We must be Sweden, yes, perhaps the world's most efficient wholesale.
Is not it great?
And why stop there when things go well?
I have now, because of this, instructed the party's communications department to face
autumn elections to produce a new poster with text
"It is time to eradicate war, poverty and hunger worldwide."
Possibly we will make a poster about unemployment, too, when we're at ...

Sweden Friends,
Almedal visitors,
It has been a winter and a spring that has been characterized by both old and new unrest around
in our world.
Russia's aggressive stance is perhaps not something new, but it has gained new relevance
With the events in the Crimea and eastern Ukraine.
This reminds us of our very vulnerable, geopolitical position ...
... How important it is to understand their environment, not to be naive, to always be prepared
of what can happen.
Not today, but in the near or perhaps even a distant future.
We need to strengthen our defense capability.
We need to focus our resources on a national existence defense - one that is worth the name.
This is where we should put the focus in fösvarspolitiken.
Parallel to this continuing conflict in Syria, and it has now additionally spread to Iraq.
It can be difficult to take in the atrocities going on in this conflict tracks.

Last spring I visited and some colleagues Jordan and the refugee camp Za'atari, which is located a bit
outside Amman.
There live next 100,000 Syrian refugees.
We got to take part in several life stories, multiple stories so vile that they were almost impossible to
understand.
Stories of bombed houses, murdered, maimed relatives, neighbors.
It becomes so incredibly pervasive, so very apparent when you sit face to face with someone who
experienced this horrific real - and it just recently.
And that, if anything, strengthened me in my belief that we urgently need a more humane
oriented refugee policy.
A human-oriented refugee policy is not a competition to award the most permanent
residence.
A human-oriented refugee policy is not a way to increase the labor supply in Sweden.
People on the run are not mascots for well-heeled Swedes with a bad conscience.
They are people.
A human-oriented refugee policy is a means to experiment with twisted,
utopian social theories that divide and tear apart functioning societies.
A human-oriented refugee policy is not a way for the individual, cynical, unscrupulous traders to
earn a lot of money.
Refugee policy is all about helping.
To help as many needy people as possible.
That's what's refugee policy is all about.

IMMIGRATION
Sweden Friends,
Almedal visitors,
As you can imagine, I am opposed to the currently prevailing view that immigration policy and
Immigration policy is a kind of nature-bound connection.
Let me be extra clear about this:
We help very few of the world are now over 50 million refugees by immigration
Sweden.
Although we already have the EU's most extreme policies on immigration ...
(We really there, the EU's most extreme immigration policy.
New figures from Eurostat show that Sweden was the EU country which in 2013 gave the most positive
Asylum decisions.
Not per capita, but in real terms - ahead of Germany, ahead of France.)
But even if we could multiply our already extensive reception here, so it would still
does not make any difference, hardly even on the margin.
That is why I am so extremely critical of those who constantly measures the humanity ...
... How good we are at helping ...
... By looking at the proportion of asylum applications.
The measure is saying how many we are not able to help, because we prioritize fault.
A misguided, ineffective refugee policy here ...
... A policy that, among other things, involves the government taking money from development assistance and putting on
housing and benefits for asylum constants in Sweden ...
... Such a policy affecting millions of refugees in distress in crisis the immediate vicinity.
The large majority of refugees suffer.
And it is not only the world's refugees suffer.
It is in relation to our country's size large asylum reception means an enormous strain on
Swedish society.
It tears apart Sweden through segregation and isolation.
It limits our ability to maintain and develop welfare.
It goes out over the weak and vulnerable groups in Sweden ...
... The people who are unable to move from problems or to buy out the service
and the welfare they need.
The irresponsible policy affects them.

So, what or who is this extreme immigration policy really good for?
The new now - as it claims - is that we serve to immigration, we will be more.
"We become more like work", says Fredrik Reinfeldt and Anders Borg.
And that is certainly true.
Employment has increased, some 200 000 new jobs since this government took office.
But what they forget to tell us in this connection is to the population during the same
period have increased by twice as many people ...
... And that's the reason that unemployment does not drop despite increased
Employment ...
... That labor - the labor supply - by large immigration constantly replenished, faster
than the jobs will be.
We do not serve on such a policy.
On the contrary, immigration is the explanation for why unemployment remains so high
levels.
"No, but it is possible that immigration represents a cost now, but we benefit from it -
long term, "states one time.
But what builds you really happening?
We have had great asylum and family immigration for decades, and so far nothing points
that their theories with reality.
And it is quite natural, because it is not able to match population growth with jobs.

It is a month ago now Sandviken Municipality presented a report which allegedly
show that the municipality earns half a billion in immigration.
One that was quickly out to win points in this were Sweden's own Baghdad Bob,
disinformation Minister Erik Ullenhag.
On Twitter he wrote:
"Sandviken remind you that we also get richer by openness."
It was just that everything was wrong.
The report did not fit.
Pure lie.
They had chosen to ignore the 70 percent of government spending (and that
at all had counted too crazy).
But - as usual - the important thing is to get the favorable figures, not what is with
reality conform.

Same thing with regard to exclusion.
For a number of years ago the Liberal Party released a report, which it called the map of social exclusion.
It sharply criticized the Social Democrats precisely because of growing exclusion.
In 1990 there were, according to the report, only 3 pieces exclusion areas throughout the country.
In 2006 the number had grown to 156th
The Liberal Party said they have the recipe to reverse this trend.
A few weeks ago released the think tank The New Welfare together with
economist Tino Sanandaji an updated version of the map of social exclusion.
The preface to this updated report is written by Mauricio Rojas ...
... The same person who was behind the Liberal Party's initial report.
Let me quote briefly from Rojas current preface:
"Tino Sanandaji have documented the Liberal Party and the bourgeois failure
To reverse the trend, judging increasing number of new and old Swedes to a life of exclusion.
Exclusion areas continued to grow between 2006 and 2012, when there were 186
exclusion areas scattered around Sweden.
The same year, lived 566,000 people in these areas, an increase of 16 percent in comparison
with the figure for 2006!
Tino Sanandaji have used the same methodology as I worked in the development of
Exclusion map in 2004 and that was also used for the renewed version of the map
2005, 2006 and in 2008.
The data used is also the same.
Therefore, his performance fully comparable with the previous the maps. "
The government, and particularly the Liberal Party, has thus failed miserably with what they saw as
its main mission eight years ago.
Social exclusion has increased.

Despite the high tail carriage, despite all the integration policy measures, despite "the biggest
Integration policy reform in 25 years ".
Social exclusion has increased.
Now, in all fairness be noted that even the Liberal Party itself presented a
updated version of the Exclusion map just days after Sanandaji.
In it they claim that the number of areas which have been reduced by one (1) since 2006,
the downward trend therefore is broken.
It turned out that they changed their methodology and geographical distinctions compared
previous reports.
But even if we posit that the Liberal Party's own report was correct, one can
note that this is not something to boast about.
If the number of areas which will continue to decrease with an area every six years so
it will take almost 1,000 years to fully made up with exclusion.
It might be a slogan for Ullenhag to run in the election campaign?
- "Vote for the Liberal Party! With our integration, we promise to abolish the alienation years
3014 ... "

Sweden Friends,
It is high time to free Erik Ullenhag and the Liberal Party from the responsibilities clearly not
can handle.
It is high time that we seriously alter the immigration and integration policies fundamentally.
We restrict asylum and family reunification.
We require those who come new to our country - demands for self-sufficiency, claim
the adaptation.
But also that we give them the opportunity, that we once and for all will come away from this
splittrings- and segregation policy ...
... And begin to create a cohesive Sweden!
A cohesive Sweden, which certainly can - and should - welcome new citizens with honest
intent in the Community ...
... But at the same time have so much self-respect, we can - and will - speak up when border
our ability to manage the situation has passed.
We believe in cohesion - not division, segregation and exclusion.

OLDER
I have, as many of you probably know, spent most of the winter and spring to travel
around the country, visiting workplaces and operations, meet people, talk to the people.
Especially during the European election campaign became especially clear how scorching the issue of pensioners
economic conditions actually are.
Pensioner Tax was a hot issue already four years ago, and nothing has happened.
It is understandable that it is even hotter now.
It boils out of the country for this injustice.
In the debate, it becomes easy to pensioners portrayed as a homogenous group.
So, of course not.
Pensioners are a homogenous group, just as young people or immigrants, it is.
It is a highly heterogeneous group, with different needs, interests and experiences.
There is a group of pensioners in this context are particularly vulnerable.
There are hundreds of thousands of older people - mostly women - who live with little, or
with very small margins.
For them, the policy can really make a difference.

In a small town in northern Sweden, I met a lady in her 80's who was so worried.
Not primarily for himself, but for his sick cat.
And it may sound trite, perhaps, for some, but for this woman was perhaps the cat be
her closest friend.
And she had saved, she had even failed to collect some of their own medicine
to help the cat ...
... But now the doctor had told her that she should not do so, and then she did not know what
would happen to the cat.
(Now I think certainly a lot of cats, but ...)
The point here is well not actually cat, but an old man who lived a full life of
our proud welfare state ...
... Probably brought up a family and in other ways contributed to the welfare of others ...
... That she is now forced to make these kinds of difficult priorities, because the society she earned not
is able to give her a decent pension.
There, Sweden Friends, is a great shame.
We will not let it remain so.

Sweden is unique.
"Only Sweden Swedish gooseberry has ...", though I, unlike the poem, can appreciate
also other parts of the world.
(Particularly in other parts of the world ...)
We have much to be proud of, and when I say "our pride welfare society" so be it
sound ironic, but I mean it, really.
I really like the idea of how our welfare society is designed and intended to be
work.
And I feel as bad when it is not working as it is supposed to.
There are also things which we can be particularly proud of.
"Only Sweden penalize pensioners have ..."
Nowhere else, at least not in our part of the world, becoming one penalty taxed at the same moment
that one retires.
Nowhere else, at least not in our part of the world, pensions higher than wages.
(However, it is quite common that in other countries tax pensioners below
wage earners.)
Pensioner tax is an abomination, a disgrace to our proud welfare society banner.
I promise - Sweden Friends, Almedal visitors, viewers - that if we can influence after
autumn elections ...
... Then a rapidly abolished senior tax form at the top of our agenda for reform.
It is one of our key campaign promises.
We realize that by re-prioritizing, by prioritizing the welfare front
mass immigration.
We realize it by redistributing more of the government's most unsuccessful reforms,
halved tavern VAT.
We realize it through increasingly taxing the banks' huge billions in profits, as
today made possible by the taxpayer stands for safety.

Sweden Friends,
We have the will, we have priorities and we have the money.
Now we abolish retired the treasure!
Now, we heard barely a week ago, the Social Democrats promise to abolish this
Tax gap between salaries and pensions ...
- And of course it is good -
... But just as before the last election, it's caveat in the caveat caveat ...
The actual effort that the Social Democrats presented is in practice very limited.
It promises to do a bit already in the forthcoming budget.
Then you should do a bit of "when you can afford," perhaps 2016, perhaps later.
The entire tax gap should however not be removed until it has reached its goal of lowest unemployment
in the EU, i.e. in 2020.
(According spådamerna at Sveavägen 68.)
(Mind you, though, with its unemployment target - which might not be so likely to do
all ...)
(Maybe we should bet on who has time to first?
The Liberal Party of abolishing alienation ...
... Or the Social Democrats with the elimination of retiree tax.
FOR REAL

And so here it is always.
It promises a lot of things - from left to right - but promises no real substance.
They mean nothing.
Here at election time thinking I was pretty much on this with how we manage to convince so
many voters as possible to vote for just us.
Why should you do it?
What is it that separates us from other parties?
Of course we distinguish us out political - both sakpolitiskt and ideologically.
And for many voters, it is of course important, perhaps especially sakpolitiken.
What are the priorities we want to do, compared with the other parties.
It is obviously an essential reason.
However, my feeling is that it's not just ideology and policy proposals that separates us from
the two traditional blocs.
- When the Social Democrats - and also other parties - again (for the umpteenth time, you know
I did not) talking to abolish this unjust punishment taxation of pensioners, as has
it has so far stayed at just talk.
There will be neither.
When we talk about eliminating retiree tax, then budgeted for it, we defer to the
money needed.
We make it - for real!

- When the bourgeois parties say they will fight unemployment and exclusion, so does the
in fact contrary ...
... The increasing unemployment, increasing social exclusion by bring in more unemployment and more
exclusion.
And then they have the nerve to boast of numbers that would get any responsible politician
ashamed.
When we say we will fight against unemployment and exclusion ...
... We mean it - for real!
- When the Social Democrats now for 13 years, has promised the right to full time in the public sector, so shoot
not any money to enable the ...
... But to shoot instead the question in front of him, put the responsibility on others.
(earlier on already hard-pressed municipalities, and most recently the social partners).
When we say we want to increase access to full-time (and part-time, for that matter) in public
sector, so we push to the money needed.
We make it - for real!
- When almost all other parties now, in the light of what is happening in our immediate vicinity,
calling for a stronger defense ...
... We will remember how they all sounded and acted during the past 20-25 years ...
how they have used the system as a kind of budgetary regulator cut down and busted,
jointly and in concert ...
... Instead of safeguarding our national defense capability.
When we talk about strengthening the defense, so we allocate money for it, we mean it.
We make it - for real!
- When the Conservatives for a number of years ago, a campaign which said "We love Sweden" as
was not true.
There is nothing at all in the Moderate party policy that points in that direction.
They do not love Sweden.
It was just words.
When we say that we love Sweden, we mean it - for real!

I could continue this list long because the other parties, they talk
so much, promised so much ...
... But then it becomes nothing.
It is just empty talk.
A lot of tactics, strategy, game.
Everything is a game.
There is nothing real.
We love Sweden - for real!
We are Sweden Friends.
We want to safeguard Sweden as a free and independent nation ...
... Preserving what makes our country unique, that makes our nation unique.
Safeguarding the created and refined here for generations.
And we are not ashamed that we love Sweden.
We think it is quite natural.
It does not mean we dislike or despise things that are not a part of Sweden.
You do not hate other families just because they love their own.
It's a totally crazy and reverse logic, and that logic is just as crazy when it comes to love
his country.
We do not hate.

It is not we who stand for hatred in the Swedish debate.
When the eyes of our opponents ...
- The black-clad extremists, radicals, revolutionaries -
... When their eyes light of genuine hatred, so light our eyes of pride and awe.
Pride and reverence for those who came before us and gave us these fantastic conditions.
We are Sweden Friends - and we love Sweden - for real!
Sweden Friends,
We are for real.
We mean what we say - and we mean it for real!
CHOICE
Now that we are a few weeks going into the heat of the election campaign, so it is like a big party, as a force
To count as a real contender.
It does not mean we will get something free.
On the contrary.

We will see a smear campaign unparalleled ...
... Simply because we continue to grow, continue to attract new groups of voters, continues to say stuff
one under the other parties and the quasi-unanimous Swedish media establishment
not allowed to say.
At least not without implications.
And it annoys them that we do not care.
It annoys them that if I am allowed to be too explicit, not care less about their mendacious
set phrases, hittepåstatistik and jeers.
We do not care.
And it annoys them, maybe even more ...
... We do not even care about it annoys them that we do not care.
(Now it was perhaps a bit messy).
Yes, it will be dirty and really uncomfortable at times.
But it's worth it.
I love election campaign, Sweden Democrats love election campaign.
We love the talks, squares meetings and debates.
It is in our nature.
And we love election night.
It's a nice feeling one gets to grow a little more each time, to never stand still.
Always, when the dust has settled, prove to have buttoned well Cassandras as political
opponents on the nose.

Is not it a fact that you can not grow indefinitely ...
... And of course we will sometime in the future to experience the opposite.
But most certainly not now - not in a long time yet.
Although I have a strong feeling that our political opponents ...
... Especially at the far left ...
... Will pass the pale even greater extent than before ...
... I would like to appeal to the other parties to be as clear as I myself is when it
the views on freedom of expression and respect for the rules of democracy.
I am clear about that in our party has nothing to gain if you use or even defending
threats and violence as a political method ...
... If you want to try to sabotage the ability of others to speak freely.
Then we have not in our party and our youth to do.
Then you have to look elsewhere.
I wish that others could be as clear.
I wish Schyman could be equally clear.
I wish Stefan Löfven could be equally clear.
I wish Jonas Sjöstedt could be equally clear.
- In both words, mind you, in action.

Sweden Friends,
Almedal visitors,
With only two and a half months left.
Let the bells ring, from north to south.
Ring in the New.
Ring in the new ones that are real, Ring out the old, false.
Call out what doomed counting their days ...
